Advanced Critical Care Practitioner
Advanced Critical Care Practitioner with an ‘Advanced Non-Medical Prescribing’ qualification at Kings College Hospital London, whilst finishing a Masters degree in Critical Care. This role allows me to markedly progress my skills and knowledge from my background in Respiratory Physiotherapy, and also develop my role as a leader in Healthcare and Critical Care.
Prior to this I was the Clinical Team Lead for the Respiratory Physiotherapy department at St Helier Hospital in Sutton. This role included overseeing the running and organisation of the respiratory physiotherapy services for the hospital, the personal and professional development of staff both in my team and in the wider hospital, and also assessing and treating patients in the Intensive Care, High Dependency, and specialised respiratory and surgical wards of the hospital.
My job role offers me the rare opportunity to promote the NHS; developing and improving services, while at the same time remaining a clinical specialist working closely with patients to assist them through illness and injury. It also allows me to train, coach, and advise other health care professionals, hopefully inspiring that same passion for excellence.
Outside of the NHS I serve as an Officer in the British Army Reserve, working as a Medical Support Officer for 335 Medical Evacuation Regiment. Having served on two overseas Deployments, one of which a Peace Keeping Mission with the United Nations, I received the Force Commanders Commendation for Excellence from the Force Commander of the UNFICYP. Awarded the MacRobert Sword for Commissioning top of my intake at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2017.
